Frequently Asked Questions

where can I connect with you?

You can find me on any of these social media platforms. I am most active on Instagram and TikTok.

What writing tools do you use?

Ah there are so many amazing ones! Apple Pages, Google Docs, Story Origin (my biggest question is what tracker are you using, it’s from here), Vellum and Microsoft Word.

I’m currently working on a page for writers so check back soon for an entire page dedicated to tools and books I recommend and use.

Where can I buy your books?

All my books are available in Paperback and eBook on Amazon.

How often do you write?

When I am drafting I write between 5:30-6:30 am every weekday. I try to write a minimum of 500 words per session and since tracking my writing I’ve noticed my word counts fluctuate between 26-1168 words. Since having my daughter I now work Monday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings in addition to my weekday morning writing session.

when did you know you wanted to be a writer?

My story is a little bit weird and different to most people, as I was not a writer when I was a kid. In primary school, I wrote a poem about two horses which got published in a book that parents could buy, and when I was a teenager I had this grand idea that I could write songs and become rich. But I am not a poem person, and songwriting is not my forte, so naturally, neither of those things worked out for me. Then a friend asked me to write with them and thus grew my love for the written word at 18. Now I write fantasy novels!

Why do you have two author names?

As my stories can be considered two difference genres, YA Fantasy & Adult Romantic Fantasy, I thought it would be best for my readers to separate them. While my adult fantasy may or may not have spice, my YA Fantasy will always be fade to black with no on page mentions of anything more than kissing. All my books are Fantasy stories and they all have romantic plot lines weaved in because I need romance in my fantasy.

HOW STEAMY/SPICY ARE YOUR BOOKS?

The Collective and The Kane Saga would both be considered No Spice YA Fantasy. There’s a bit of kissing but nothing else. You can find other authors books of the same genre in Brittany Wang’s No Spice YA Fantasy Directory. Find that here!

My current works in progress are Romantic Fantsy which are known to be on the steamy side. As these are not finished I wouldn’t like to commit to a rating just yet! However, I highly doubt there will be explicit play-by-play on page, but from what I have written so far, they’re not spice free either. I’d probably say 🌶🌶-🌶🌶🌶 is my max… but who knows. Once I’m finished writing I will let you know!

do you use any of your own experience in your writing?

Sometimes! It definitely depends on the story, the scene and the characters. In one of my books, I am including a scene in there of something that did happen to me - I’ll let you try to figure that out once I’ve written the book. But if I want to write a situation and I know someone who has been through it and experienced it I’ll usually ask for their input on the scene.

I am a book reviewer, do you ever give out ARCs (advanced reader copies) of your books?

I do. The best place to get notified for ARC’s is my newsletter or facebook group. When I am ready to look for ARC readers I usually do a call out with a google form. You can also send me an email to request one if there’s a particular book you’re after. While I can’t guarantee everyone will receive an ARC, it never hurts to ask.

Can I interview you on my blog or podcast?

I’m always open to interview requests, it simply depends on the time of year and what my schedule’s like. Feel free to drop a message through the contact form (linked in navigation), include a link to your blog, publication or social media and outline what you’d like to discuss.
